for my independent project I decide I would do a comic from a show I used to watch in the past
Independent Project Statement
My style can be hard to compare to more socially accepted, and world-known styles. If I had to compare my style it would be a cartoon, chibi, or anime style. My style is from many other people's styles, and I picked what I like and made something I'm proud of. Most of the styles and art I see are from Instagram. I look at different accounts such as Riotime._, Onebluedude, and many other things. For my art piece, I decided I wanted to spend my time creating something from my childhood. so For my artwork, I have chosen to paint an icon screen from a childhood show that I used to watch. I wouldn't say this is my favourite piece I've created, there are many flaws that I see when looking at my art. It was very hard to keep on schedule with such strict deadlines, so some things in my eyes seemed rushed and unfinished or overall needed to be redone. Though this may not be my favourite piece of work, and I wish I picked a different idea, I'm still glad I did make it. This piece forced perspective on me, and let me see all the things I liked and disliked about my art in general. I think next time I would like to change my whole idea. I would rather do character design or portrait paintings. The time and art that I made allowed me to experience something new. I now know that deadlines are no joke, and can’t be extended. I also learned that in a room of artists, with everyone's unique styles and techniques it's worth asking questions, and talking with others, it really helped me see the things that should be changed about my own art piece.
